She is getting better but the wound is looking uglier. When I got her home yesterday, she stayed curled up in the back of her crate. Today she is sticking her head out a little and showing some interest in our comings and goings. I carry the crate with her in it outside and she comes out to relieve herself then goes right back in. A few minutes ago, she came out on her own and sought me out.
It looks like there is some necrosis going on which is typical of a snake bite. Click the picture to enlarge only if you are not easily grossed out.

My little dachsaund survived a snake bite to the face several years ago. She eventually shed most of the skin on the side of her face and now can be called "Scarface." Anyway I found your site as she looks like she was bit again by either spider or snake on other side of muzzle.
If Ellie has survived this long she should be out of the woods. Lots of sloughing of skin to go. Good luck.
