In 2006, a gas well near a small, rural subdivision burst causing a dozen residents to be evacuated because they were afraid of a fire or explosion. Recently they learned their water is contaminated with benzene.
Bullock said Terracon has data from 58 monitoring well points and is testing 20 private water wells, including some more than three miles from the blowout site.
This happened a few miles south of the Montana line but it could happen in Fort Worth or Arlington or Denton or Flower Mound or…anywhere in the Barnett Shale area.
