I just happened by this on the way to work about 3 hours after a storm passed through. The fire department has almost extinguished the fire, but you can see that it was a big one. Notice that the top of the tank looks like it was blown off. I sure wouldn’t want one of these things near my house or school or church or…
I called the paper immediately thinking that they might want to report on it. Their response was that this happens often when storms go through. Not kidding.

Severe thunderstorms dumping fierce rain and vivid lightning are rumbling across north Texas this morning. Crude oil tanks are on fire in Wise County, possibly due to lightning strikes but police and firefighters are not sure, right now. The Wise County Sheriff’s Office says at least one tank battery is in flames in the northeast part of the county
So, maybe there are others
