The oil & gas industry could do things differently. They could use some of their profits to implement the affordable emission controls mentioned in Dr. Armendariz’s study that would prevent half of the air pollution in North Texas. They could use closed loop systems instead of waste pits. They could do things right.
Instead they spend record millions lobbying against regulation that would keep our water safe and our air clean. Instead they spend millions on an image makeover.
Oil, gas industries ripe for makeover

Absolutely totally disgusting! This is strictly a con game. The predation will continue apace. This industry is the closest thing to a Mafia operation in the nation. They are knowingly killing people with dangerous explosive installations placed as close to humans as possible so that profits can be maximized. They refuse to admit their pollution of air, water, and land with carcinogenic and genetic pathogens, and frankly don’t give a damn.
None of the PR and lobbying effort revealed below alters one iota of that assessment.
This is so dumb. If they would just do things right they could save all that money spent on lobbying and PR.
