Town Council Meeting tomorrow night, December 17th, 6:00pm at Flower Mound Town Hall.
It is URGENT that all Flower Mound residents follow the instructions HERE and show up at the meeting.
That gas has been in the shale for centuries and it’s not going anywhere. It will be there when they figure out the technology and regulation necessary to develop it safely.

The threats of a lawsuit against the town are coming in before the meeting is even held. Get in line behind Red Oak. The town can legislate faster (and more) than gas companies can sue. The suit would likely not even get to court before a ban was lifted. We already fended off one, and I don't see any city services halting, apparently we can stand up to you. Here's a great idea, why don't you just spend the money to capture 97% of the emissions. It would be a great business practice and oddly enough I don't mind paying some more for my gas if it means it won't hurt my kids. I'm funny like that.

My favorite part of this meeting was the Chesapeake Energy attorney who theatened Flower Mound with regulatory takings considering Chesapeake doesn't have a CAUSE OF ACTION because Chesapeake doesn't have ONE well in Flower Mound. Is it possible you were scared this would create a domino effect with other municipalities? It's bad enough we have people who don't live here demanding things at our expense, now we have ones who don't even do business here following suit (pun intended).
