Sexual predators flock to energy boom towns
Oil and gas development has long drawn criticism for its environmental effects, which range from road-killed wildlife to unhealthy ozone levels. But a study published in Conservation Biology now shows that it has social effects, too. Focusing on just one aspect of lawlessness — sexual predation — the study has found that twice to three times as many sexual predators are flocking to the boom towns as to nearby tourist, ranching and farming communities1.
Yee-haw!

Well, I feel molested, but I always thought I would use that metaphorically when referring to oil and gas. Let me guess, the RRC will protect us from this threat as well.

My comment always has been and will always be, it is against the law for registered sex offenders to be within 1000ft of any area where children gather.
How can they legally work at some of these sites which sit less than a 1000ft from parks and schools? They cannot it is illegal and against the terms of their parole. If they are discovered to be inviolation of their parole they are returned to prison to serve the length of their term. Why do people do little investigative reporting in this matter. I have contacted the local law enforcement but no one seems interested in investigating. I guess when someone finds a small child molested and murdered behind one of these site they will claim ignorance. Remember Amber Hagerman and Polly Klause both raped and murdered by sexual predators. Polly was kidnapped from her bedroom and Amber was kidnapped while riding her bicycle in front of her home. Amber was beheaded and left in a field like a piece of trash. She was 10 years old.
There are reasons these predators are not allowed close to children. This sit, they watch, they wait, and then they attack.
