Statesman, As urban gas drilling expands, so do health concerns
Texas state has rules to install Stage I and Stage II vapor recovery systems and Stage II is suppose to reduce 95% of the emission.
Barnett Shale operators are not required to install vapor recovery systems on their condensate tanks, but, if they were required, they would cut emissions 95%. VRS cost about $60,000 and pay for themselves, usually, in less then 18 months because all that product does not escape into the air.
