What do you think of your boy Weems now?

And, what exactly is your point? I know that Weems works for industry. Here's what I think:
"There's an oil and gas tradition, so it's less of a vulnerability," he said. "There's a lot of drilling throughout the state, and so many people are involved in the energy industry. Just because you work for the energy industry, unless you've covered something up or defend BP now," it's not a mark against a candidate.
Got anything else, genius?

Sharon, you're completely missing the point! He DOES represent BP now! And he HAS covered it up! He didn't tell anyone. In fact, he lied about everything! He's gotten rich off of the biggest polluters on the planet!!! He's exactly what we've been fighting against for years! Ugh! I'm voting for the Green party, whoever it is. Why can't we get a good Democrat who doesn't sell out to the polluters!!??
Take off your party blinders, he's a wolf in sheep's clothing!

I do not have on any party blinders. You are making HUGE assumptions here. HUGE!

It's so difficult to keep up with all the anonymous posters. What I have yet to understand is why they are so proud of their profession, but so obviously emabarassed to use their name on a blog post.
Jeff Weems told me that he's represented BP in some lawsuits that involved greedy mineral rights owners thinking they needed larger envelopes in their mailbox money. None of the lawsuits he was attorney of record on involved regulations, safety or welfare issues.
If you have some information that proves otherwise, such as your statement that he has lied and covered it up, I'd love to know. In fact, the Austin Statesman would love to know, as every other reporter would as well. Let's have it. As the saying goes, put up or shut up.
At the Democratic Convention in Corpus, recently, Jeff spoke for a few minutes, opening up with a picture of the BP Horizon rig in falmes, stating that as Commissioner, nothing like this would happen in Texas. I find it difficult to believe that Jeff would use this as an example if he's been representing BP in a fashion that would be even remotely bad for his campaign.
But, you Anonymous folks do seem to know it all, so I'll happily sit back and wait for your facts to come rolling in.
While you're that, I think this concservative is going to write Jeff another check.

Y'all keep blindly following anyone with a D logo. I'm done. I'm sick of polluters screwing up my water, beaches, everything. Weems is complicit. He's a rich, Houston lawyer, nothing more.

I don't know how much clearer I can be. You are making a HUGE assumption.

Forget Weems and tell the Commission how much we think they SUCK!!!! Please. This survey has gone out to oil and gas industry supporters. Very few outside of industry even know about it. We must counterbalance their comments with the truth as it is for us…no help, no protections, no justice.
Please fill out the form. It takes two seconds.
