Sad news, Dear Readers: The courageous, talented and entertaining Mrs. Burns is throwing in the towel and leaving her ranch because it is unsafe for her family.
Eventually something catastrophic is going to happen here. All this leaking gas, a rush rush drilling program, wild fires and illegal activity – it’s a recipe for disaster. We don’t want to be here when it blows up.
Her sweet son is “inconsolable” to leave his paradise and his beloved dogs.
All you Barnett Shale people who are so happy that XOM bought XTO because now “the Big Players are moving in” should spend a little time on her blog. She actually has 2 blogs, the Rancho Los Malulos is her main blog where she has posted videos of XOM repairing pipeline leaks with Duck Tape, and repairing benzene leaks with a screw, or not repairing other leaks at all. You can also see all kinds of super duper drilling XOM drilling operations on her YouTube channel .

I'm actually a little surprised she has made it this long. Not taking anything away from her courage and tenacity, but the health of your family should always be the top priority.
Keep in mind, she hasn't come this far just to give up now. She's moving her family off the toxic ranch-but we'll see and hear more from her in the future.
Fighters like her just dont walk away.
