Forrest Wilder does it again with another peek under the TCEQ rug.
The Texas Gas Industry’s Potemkin Village Tour
Are industry and TCEQ undermining good science?
Last year TCEQ commissioned Hy-Bon Engineering of Midland to go out in the field and directly measure emissions at 36 tank battery sites and compare that data to what the models predicted. The $200,000 study itself is not earth-shattering. But the way it was handled speaks volumes about the power dynamic between the state environmental agency and the oil and gas industry.
To say TCEQ and industry made things difficult on Hy-Bon is an understatement. This is a must read.

Many people moved to Texas in the last two decades with the mistaken belief this state was diversifying its economy.
Take your ingenuity and your dreams and your money elsewhere. Texas is completely incapable of making oil and gas play well with others.
