Tonight we met in DISH, TX to help TCEQ evaluate their 12-hour odor response system.
I’ve said this many times before on this blog but I forgot to mention it tonight: For the most part, the individual inspectors on the ground in the Barnett Shale are doing a fine job. Overall our complaints with the inspectors are few and we are grateful to them for their efforts.
There were about 60 Barnett Shale victims in attendance and your stories broke my heart. Thank you for coming. Thank you for your courage.
The meeting was attended by the following regulators:
Rob Lawrence, Senior Policy Adviser – Energy Issues, EPA
Terry Clawson, TCEQ
Tony Walker, TCEQ
Alyssa Taylor, TCEQ
You left us with little hope but we aren’t giving up. We can’t.
Tony Walker said the numbers in our presentation were wrong so instead of sleeping I had to check and make sure they weren’t wrong.

Well, I didn't post what I REALLY thought about the meeting. It is plain that we will get not help from TCEQ or EPA. I don't know what the next step should be but we need to ratchet up the pressure in a big way.

those are hot shoes!
I hope we do get some change – although I did not leave with much hope.

I have to agree. It appears the way our system is set up right now, no one can really offer help because TCEQ, Texas RR Comm, and the EPA do not work together.
They each handle certain issues and enforce different rules so there are so many holes for our concerns and problems to fall through. I too left with little hope.
I also agree those are the hottest shoes ever!
