Again, I know these numbers are shocking so I want to go through them one more time using pictures.
Legend:
Apples = Apples
Oranges = Oranges
Apples ≠ Oranges
BS = Barnett Shale
Total complaints for all BS Counties Jan – July 23 = 281
This number includes ALL complaints from counties in the BS made to TCEQ even those that have nothing to do with the BS.
Total odor complaints for all BS Counties Jan – July 23 = 258
After reading all the complaints from this time period, I pulled out ONLY the odor complaints from natural gas operations in the BS counties.
The following information pertains to these BS counties only: Tarrant, Denton, Wise, Johnson, Parker, Hood and Erath
Total complaints Jan – July 23 = 274
This number includes ALL complaints from Tarrant, Denton, Wise, Johnson, Parker, Hood and Erath made to TCEQ even those that have nothing to do with the BS.
Total odor complaints Jan – July 23 = 256
After reading all the complaints from this time period, I pulled out ONLY the odor complaints from natural gas operations in Tarrant, Denton, Wise, Johnson, Parker, Hood and Erath counties.
Additional Querys of most recent TCEQ complaints in Tarrant, Denton, Wise, Johnson, Parker, Hood and Erath counties show the following: (see actual query results copied and pasted from TCEQ website HERE)
Total complaints Jan – October 13 = 909
This number includes ALL complaints from Tarrant, Denton, Wise, Johnson, Parker, Hood and Erath made to TCEQ even those that have nothing to do with the BS.
NOTE: There is no orange for the most recent TCEQ complaints because I don’t yet have that number.
Based on that information from TCEQ, here is my hypothesis:
If the ratio of odor complaints remains consistent, then there were over 800 odor complaints from Jan – Oct 13.
From July 23 to October 13–less than 2.5 months–there were 635 total complaints.
Hey, maybe my hypothesis is wrong or slightly off. I haven’t yet had the time to read every single one of those complaints. My staff of Me, Myself and I has been extremely busy answering all the emails and phone calls from Argyle and Bartonville residents where it seems Armageddon has started. But, you can’t continue to say my numbers are wrong unless you offer some proof. (Okay, I take that back. It seems you can say anything you want and get away with it.)
PS: During the time period I analyzed, January through July 23, there were only 3 violations found by TCEQ. Apparently there have been a very few more violations found since that time period but I did not analyze past the time period for which I received records in my Public Information Request.
Therefore, in the time period analyzed by me, the TCEQ found nothing wrong 99% of the time.

AT the TCEQ Open House this week, Tony Walker told me he had an issue with your numbers. He said there like 6 enforcement actions. Exec Director Vickery was standing right there when I said that even if that's true, that't still only 2% out of the total complaints. I asked if the 3 that were rolled into one on our property counted as one of those 6, or 3 of the 6. He'd have to get back to me. In other words, Yes, the 3 that were rolled into one is 3.

I can only calculate the numbers for which I have records. I clearly stated that there were 3 enforcement actions from Jan. – July 23 when I made my public information request.
