The companies — Halliburton, BJ Services and Schlumberger — all volunteered to stop using diesel fuel in coal bed methane gas wells, according to a signed memorandum of understanding. ProPublica
Of course, “The companies — Halliburton, BJ Services and Schlumberger” completely blew off that agreement and continued to inject diesel underground to the tune of approximately 32 million gallons.
Fracturing or fracing – The pumping of crude oil, diesel, water or chemicals into a reservoir with such force that the reservoir rock is cracked and results in greater flow of oil or gas from the reservoir.
If there is anybody out there who still thinks this industry doesn’t need federal oversight, you can pick up your epic stupid award HERE.

From observing those Chesapeake people over our way, it's clear that they have lost their way. This industry seems hell bent on destroying us. Seeing what they are doing to our beautiful neighborhoods and countryside…while telling us it's for the good of the country and for the good of our children.

and then, turn around and EXPORT it.
This is PROOF that it is not for Our Country.
It is for profit.

Isnt it beautiful… blame the EPA that had the regulatory rug pulled out from under them for not regulating an industry that exempted itself from ever being regulated. It's a Catch-22, there was no law to break because they gutted the law to protect an industry that cannot operate within the law(that doesnt exist anymore)… that Yossarian…

Don't you wonder what they would think about the emissions from gas drilling?

"Legal but Stupid" sounds like the name of a website or blog all on it's own. We even have television shows that are made up entirely of home movies showing people doing perfectly legal-and perfectly stupid things. We even have a TV show, which, due it's popularity, created at least 3 theatrical releases of the same title- "Jackass", which I'm sure most of us are familiar with at least the premise-people doing stupid things that often result in injury to themselves.
Kinda reminds me of a particular Industry, if not a particular Industry job. These people keep doing stupid things, often getting themselves killed or seriously injured, yet they keep coming back for more, repeating the same thing that got their co worker crushed, maimed or killed using the exact same methods.
Or maybe just the Industry itself- setting up drill rigs, waste pits, pipelines, compressor stations, tank batteries, et. al., within 200 feet of someone's home. Legal? Appraently so. Smart? Hardly.

"While working in South America-Venezuela as a drilling fluid engineer…July 30 1997: Arrive in Venezuela. I am a drilling fluid engineer, we are using 100% diesel and various chemical additives to maintain a good drilling program in the Caripita shale that is being drilled, bottom hole temperature is around 200 degrees F. Flowline temperature is 150-180 degrees F. A steam of those chemicals are breathed continuously as drilling fluid pits are monitored at all times."
