When Ft. Worth citizens attended the Ft. Worth League of Neighborhoods meeting to learn what it takes to keep children safe when gas drilling is near their schools, someone left a flyer on their cars.
No one knows who created the flyers but the content, or “facts”, on them matches content found on the Ask Chesapeake website. The problem is the “facts” listed on the flyer are flat out false!
So, what do you think? Since the City of Fort Worth is listed on the flyer, maybe they created the flyer from the content on Chesapeake Energy’s website. Cozy, eh? Or, did someone else create the flyer and sick the city’s name on it to lend credibility? Still cozy.

The opposite of FACT is FICTION. That's what this is.

This to me indicates the gas holes are getting desperate. Why else would they stoop so low as to spread their lies in the dark of night ,anonymously.

Someone from industry paid someone else in the community who was too cowardly to do it in public.

Just another example of Gas Mafia tactics!

Wise County was born out the gas and oil industry. We have more drilling in this county than ever before. When EnCana finishes with their 6 wells behind us, we will be fully surrounded by pipelines, compressor stations, wells, truck traffic and the whole bit-so, if this Industry is such a 'boon' to our local economy, why is their more than a $4 Million budget shortfall? And, we have a population increase. I can only conclude that it's either not the 'boon' as claimed or at best, the budget shortfall would be so much worse if not for the Industry. I think if we actually looked at the budget, we would find the truth.

yeah right !! we value all the $$$$$ over our kids' health. Give me a break.

I agree with Tim. Show me the money. Texas has several shell plays in progress yet we have a 27 Billion dollar deficit? And this deficit does not reflect any of the future cost of clean-up for the "Love Cannel's" being created in every county. Business as usual, private profits at the expense of the public.

Recently and independent air test found high levels of carbon disulfide near three Ft Worth schools that were near natural gas extraction/production sites. TCEQ does not test for carbon disulfide in it's suma canister results, nor it's permanent air monitoring stations! You have to regional request that Austin send down it's van and the van has to be specially set up to test for that. Matt Baker from TCEQ/Austin told me that in the oil and gas industry, that they use benzene for their lowest screening level. My take on that is "if the bnezene is low, then the others (carbon disulfide) should be low too". I asked him what it meant if the benzene was not high, but the carbon disulfide was and he said he needed to see those independnt tests to comment. HAH!

As my husband said when he plucked the flyer from our car, this has Chesapeake written all over it. Pretty funny though. They are not brave enough to claim ownership but they put everyone else's name on it.
OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE DESPERATE!!!!
