The TCEQ’s new air plan for the DFW area is short 140 tons PER DAY of VOCs and they are scratching their heads trying to figure out where they can find that many VOCs to cut.
TCEQ needs us to help them see the obvious:
Tonight, Dish, Texas will sign the first resolution demanding TCEQ fill the VOC gap in the DFW clean air plan with cuts in uncontrolled gas industry emissions. Why should the gas industry be the only ones who don’t adhere to emissions controls?
We only have 30 days to convince TCEQ so here’s what you need to do:
- Send your town council the Model Fair Share Resolution and
- Camp on their doorstep until the have adopted it.
- Get your neighborhood groups to adopt the resolution.
- Ask your churches, sports groups, medical community, real estate groups, neighborhood associations and etc. to adopt a resolution.
Use the Fair Share Flyer and The Case for a Fair Share. For more information visit the Downwinders At Risk Fair Share for Clean Air website.

"TCEQ has determined that the region could reduce VOC emissions by 100 tons per day by regulating leaking condensate tanks, gas-powered valves and well flaring" …. but as always is the case with the TCEQ, why do anything when you could simply do nothing at all. Does that quote exist only to infuriate everyone?!

I am really impressed by Downwinder's proposals. Who drafted the resolution?
