This is the home of my dreams. It’s green, efficient, off the grid, uses a rain collection system for water and it’s in the middle of nowhere.
The day I visited this home it was hotter than the hinges of hell, like most summer days in Texas. But, when we went inside the home, it was quite pleasant. The straw bales provide excellent insulation.
It’s a good thing they have the rainwater collection system because the proposed Enron Oil and Gas frack sand mine will soon deplete the aquifer.
So, one might ask: if this is the home of my dreams, why am I moving to Allen, TX? Allen is in Collin County, one of the few counties in Texas that does not receive any tax revenue from oil and gas activity. That’s why all the gasholes live in Collin County and you can bet that where ever the gasholes live, there won’t be any fracking. I just hope I don’t get caught up in any gashole Karma.
