An update about the Williams- Transco pipeline explosion. From GhostBlogger.
A Williams-Transco gas transmission pipeline exploded on December 3 in Alabama:
A video of the fire:
The fire burned for 90 minutes after the gas was shut off. There were no injuries. Maybe Williams is “warming up” (pun intended) for PHMSA a Forum on Emergency Responders to be held on December 9. Add this to the list of major gas pipeline explosions in Ohio & Mississippi in recent weeks.

I was there! I was in a deer stand about two miles fom the flame. I didn’t hear the explosion, but I could hear the roar. From where I was,the flame was in the direction of where I parked my truck. I thought that my truck had exploded and was the cause of the fire. As I ran toward my truck, I realized that the flame was a long way away. I still thought that I was seeing a big forest fire and wondered if that what big fire sounded like. It was like the sound of two big jet engines. I have seen reports that the flame was 100 feet in the air, but my estimate is 200 to 250 feet. I’ve never seen anything like that on T.V. or in the movies!

I can’t believe I live in a country were a pipeline company like Williams can seize private land by eminent domain and put these dangerous intrusions right up against people’s homes. I live in Lancaster county and am a member of Martic SOUL. We are trying to keep the pipeline out of one of the most beautiful places in the world. They want to go through many of the Amish farms that make this place so special. We need the media to help us. Our government seems unable or unwilling to stop this. Our township could be sued by our own state if they try to help us. Is this the America we live in?
