The Denton Drilling Task Force voted 3 to 2 to allow compressor stations inside the city of Denton. I think Dallas went that way as well.
Emergency responders at scene of explosion at a natural gas compressor station
BY LAURA LEGERE (STAFF WRITER)Published: March 29, 2012
It’s operated by Williams the same company that operates the Argyle Central Facility and the Scenic facility in Flower Mound, plus a couple of additional poorly managed, stinky compressor stations in the area.

Gas compressor explosions happen more often than some are willing to say:
* A gas compressor had a major leak “that sounded like a rocket” in Powell County, Kentucky, forcing
evacuations of nearby residents on January 14, 2012.
* On December 6, 2011, explosions & fire erupted at a natural gas pipeline compressor station in
Sublette County, Wyoming. Two workers were injured.
* Early on November 3, 2011, an explosion and fire hit a gas transmission pipeline compressor station
near Artimas, Pennsylvania. There were no injuries.
* A gas compressor station in Shongaloo, Louisiana on August 24, 2010, injured 1 worker.
It’s disturbing that I’m seeing on various blogs & post assurances from companies installing all this new fracking support equipment that gas compressors don’t explode!
People tend to remember these accidents, especially when they were told they could never happen by a PR type from the company that had the explosion.

I just heard about this incident in 2008:
http://www.cleburnetimesreview.com/godley/x489007782/Compressor-station-blows-up
A gas compressor exploded near Godley, TX, owned by Crosstex Pipeline and serves as an entry point for an EOG Resources site. The fire spread to a Chesapeake gas compressor.
I hope no one from Crosstex or Chesapeake says that gas compressors never explode.

Williams restarted the compressor with DEP permission!

Inmates running the asylum there?

I think you mean WITHOUT PERMISSION.
It’s not surprising. Their only concern is their bottom line.

Virginia- I think the man (from the outfitters in Sugar Run) was saynig that the view from the overlook was disturbing now because you look down on a huge well pad (the Kerrick site) and other well pads which are sometimes hidden by trees unless there are rigs up and running. It will only get worse as time goes on.Peacegirl
