Wyoming had a 4.0M quake right in the middle of the fracking gas patch but it’s disappeared off the USGS website. You can see a screenshot of the webpage that is no longer available and a video HERE.

Why do some earthquakes disappear?

I might have been an explosion of some kind and not an earthquake at all. From the maps, it is obviously right in the middle of a heavily fracked area.

This is in the opposite corner of the state but same time: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/usc0009gcq.php

So interesting! Incredible amount of drilling in that area too.
I don’t know much about physics but I do know that trying to cram 10 pounds in a 5 pound bag won’t work. Something eventually gives.
Forget about the millions of gallons of water. Think about the frack sand! It’s hard to find out exactly how much sand they use in a frack job but I’ve seen 2500 tons as a minimum. You can’t pump that much mass into the earth without expecting something to give.
