I called and all their offices said H.B. 1496 before I could even make a statement. Either a lot of people are calling about this bill or they recognize my number by now.

H.B. 2828 on removing home rule on pipelines and giving it to RRC appears
to be more urgent than H.B. 1496 at this time. Only Flower Mound has a resolution against it and sent a council member to Austin. Other cities made comments such as why should we suffer because Flower Mound has a stupid rule? The O&G (pipelines) appears to have a big push going. Home rule is going to take a big hit if this bill passes. Pipelines invest even more than mid-size O&G on lobbying. Rally the troops – this one is urgent! Where are you South Lake, Arlington, Denton, Fort Worth when you are really needed?

There is a great deal of opposition to this bill. People are working on it. I wouldn’t say it is more urgent but equally urgent.
