HB 379 by Lon Burnam – assesses fee on wastewater injection to encourage water conservation in fracking.
Relating to the imposition of a fee on oil and gas waste disposed of by injection in a commercial injection well permitted by the Railroad Commission of Texas.
This bill will encourage recycling of water and the fee will go to the oil and gas regulation and clean up fund.
HB 2982 by Jim Keffer –
Relating to the power of the Railroad Commission of Texas to adopt and enforce safety standards and practices applicable to the transport.
This bill has been amended and weakened Please thank Keffer for this bill. The safety standards should apply to all production, refining and gathering pipelines, even in rural areas.
Please call each of the Energy Resources Committee members Wednesday before 2:00PM and tell them you support HB 379 and a stronger version of HB 2982.
