Like his owners, he suffered from rashes. He also had a tumor. Besides Mike, he was Myra’s best friend. People and animals can’t live there.
UPDATE: Here is a picture of the late Mr. Bean. He was only two.

Reminds me of Donkey and all the dogs in Argyle that had cancer. I had 2 dogs that died of cancer within a year of each other.

Along one road in Argyle and Bartonville, we counted up 13 dogs in all that had died of cancer, most of them of brain tumors, at the height of the boom. Please tell the family that we are all sorry for their loss.

Soooo sad.
Just contacted the Animal Rescue in Arkansas, to try to help with the clean up…
Unbelievably, they are not able to do anything anymore, and she told me about a beaver that is sick that she wants to help…but can’t because Exxon won’t let them on site anymore.
Just laying there…sick….
They’re going to tally up their losses, and I will try to help them as much as possible.
Frankly, I can’t believe Mojo is still kicking it!!
So much oil and gas sadness….Pray, Pray, Pray…

My Pinky & Gidget, both kitties died within weeks of each other in 2011, they were riddled with tumors. I had my heart attack in between burying my kitties. They were only 11, their mama outlived them by several years.

I understand the sentiment behind that post but words are useful to describe what is happening. I agree that people should not use negative terms as descriptors of themselves but the reference to the canary is a strong and useful metaphor. I don’t think Mr. Bean’s or other dogs’ self image is harmed by referring to their circumstances in the gas patch as similar to the canaries used in coal mines.
Just my opinion.
