Adam and I watched our new DVD, 300, today. I bought a new DVD player after accidentally giving the other new DVD player away. I got it all hooked up properly < puffs up chest > except for the surround sound which I can live without.
I sobbed.
Again.
It’s hard to imagine that kind of bravery but I am most grateful. The bravery of 300 Spartan warriors those many years ago, as they fought for freedom, was where the root of the Democracy we enjoy today began.
Brave warriors are still fighting but their bravery is exploited for a rich white man’s war. (My mother told me to never use the word rich because, “It’s vulgar,” she said. But it fits in this instance.) A rich man’s war for oil.
