Today I got a voice message and email from David House, Reader Advocate for the Star-Telegram.
The background is here but the cliff notes are: They did a hatchet job on my LTE and turned a rebuttal into agreement.
Here is the message I received from Mr. House:
Dear Ms. Wilson,
We apologize for the version of the letter that was published last Tuesday and certainly understand your concerns.
I have just added your original letter to Saturday’s letters to the editor. I did add the August date of Mr. Saxe’s letter to conform with style but that was the only change beyond checking for spelling and punctuation. It may be helpful to know that the Saturday readership is far higher than Tuesday’s.
We hope this corrects an unfortunate situation.
Best regards,
David House

Excellent news! Go you.
Have you updated your TK post? I’d love to make sure as many eyes as possible were on your REAL letter.

Congrats on winning one. To say I’m disappointed in the paper is an understatement.
