It’s hard to believe there is someone out there this ignorant–only in Wise County. Some people have suggested that he’s really a Democrat who’s trying to make Republicans look stupid. If that’s his goal he is a smashing success. But, since I live HERE, where they wanted to hang a Confederate Flag in the courthouse, I can assure you he is only one of many.
I understand there are still a scant 20% who believe the bullshit dished out on a daily basis by The Liar Channel, Fox News but that’s something completely different than this guy who calls Hillary a Communist.
Plan called ‘communist’
By Blake Harlee
Published Sunday, September 16, 2007Under her “modern progressive” (communist) economic plan, Hillary Clinton proposes to let President Bush’s tax cuts for top earners come to an end (even though the top 10 percent of wage earners pay almost 70 percent of all federal income taxes, while the bottom 50 percent pay about 4 percent), eradicate subsidies for oil and gas companies, and require large oil companies to invest in alternative energy or pay into a national research fund.
She has also called for greater examination of the salaries of chief executives, as well as a maximum value at which chief executive officers can be paid.
Not only that, but in a bid to “keep jobs in America,” she is pushing to eliminate an element of the tax code that allows companies to suspend taxes on profits they earn overseas. In laymen’s terms, if a company expands overseas (e.g. McDonalds, Subway, Halliburton, Ford, and Chevy) then they will not only be taxed in the country in which they are operating, but they will also be taxed in the United States. This incredibly irresponsible policy will not only devastate the economy, but could very possibly lead to a second great depression. My question to Comrade Clinton is this: Do you think any major companies will stay in the United States if they have to pay double the taxes? If Clinton is elected, then you can practically guarantee not just a recession, but very possibly a second great depression.
WhatClinton doesn’t bother to tell you is that if her war on business is triumphant, not only will it hurt the rich and all business, but it will also mean the end of hundreds of thousands of jobs for working Americans. This will not only devastate the United States economy, but will completely eliminate the middle class. The country will be rampant with poverty, unemployment, crime, and a worthless dollar. This is precisely why every American, no matter what their background, must do all they can to prevent her rise to the presidency. Just remember, a loss for Hillary is a win for America.

Rhome
This type of letter used to appear in each edition of our local paper, Wise County Messenger, but lately, either through the efforts of more intelligent letter writers who rebut these people or because they have enough good sense to be embarrassed, their Limbaughesque letters have dwindled. As a result, I slacked off on my letter writing but this fool tempted me beyond my ability to resist. And, I’m not a Hillary supporter.
My response HERE
I laughed out loud when I read Blake Harlee’s letter about Hillary Clinton in which he called her economic plan Communist. I saw no need to respond to such hyperbole until I was asked to by someone I admire. My response took a surreal turn.
Oops! Harlee, your letter coincided with the release of Greenspan’s new book. Greenspan praises Bill Clinton for his mind and his tough anti-deficit policies. He calls Clinton’s economic plan “an act of political courage.” In contrast, he expresses deep disappointment with Bush and the Republican controlled Senate for their “out of control spending.” Greenspan, a life-long Republican, says that the Republicans lost their way because, “They swapped principle for power. They ended up with neither.” No problem Harlee, we can spin it like this: We’ll say the spending is somehow Clinton’s fault and that Greenspan is a Communist and Republicans knew it all along.
Warren Buffet, the third richest man in the world, thinks that top earners should pay more in taxes than people who earn less. At a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton, he chastised our system because he was taxed 17.7% on the $46 million he made in 2006 while his secretary, who earned $60,000 was taxed at 30%. Silly Buffet didn’t even try the many avenues to avoid paying higher taxes with tax shelters. That fool must be a Communist!
How dare Clinton desire to “keep jobs in America” Why, that’s un American! How dare she consider taxing poor, poor Halliburton for moving their operations offshore? How else can they get cheap labor without providing laborers any benefits? Halliburton’s consolidated revenue in the third quarter of 2006 was a mere $5.8 billion. It’s utterly ridiculous to expect these companies to give back for their slight good fortune by funding alternative energy source research. They’re already overburdened by their numerous no-bid contracts.
We don’t need to spend taxpayer money investigating chief executives who retire with 100s of millions. Just because many of those executives mismanage the worker’s retirement accounts into bankruptcy is no excuse to hold grudges. Those loyal workers should just suck it up.
Your prediction that Clinton, if elected, will create a country with no middle class that is “rampant with poverty, unemployment, crime, and a worthless dollar” is too much like current reality to bear. She must be stopped!
Mr. Harlee, be prepared. I can practically guarantee we will have a Democratic president in 2008. But there’s still time to stuff your money into coffee cans and bury it in the back yard!
One would think that I had learned my lesson with my recent LTE experience. However the Messenger only slightly edits and they have never change the meaning of a letter.
