NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material) is all around us and that’s normal. But, Barnett Shale natural gas exploration can produce NORM in concentrated levels
“so intensely that it generates readings as high as low-level uranium mining.”
Although NORM is most often associated with oil exploration, there have been 25 contamination sites that produced 1000 barrels of radioactive waste in Tarrant, Wise and Denton Counties in the past two years.
Remember the Russian spy who was poisoned? If you live anywhere near Barnett Shale Drilling, you might want to read Peggy Henkel-Wolfe’s third article on NORM in the Barnett Shale: Risks may deviate for the NORM
