Leak Described As ‘Geyser’
WELD COUNTY, Colo. — A neighborhood just outside Erie found itself cleaning up this week after a natural gas well sprung a leak.
That leak caused a cloud of mist to form, which then coated several houses in an oily substance.
Let’s see… Isn’t Encana Oil and Gas a big player in the Barnett Shale area–earnings of $1.36 billion for the quarter–and particularly a big player in the urban drilling–as in next to people’s homes? Rhetorical question.
From a homeowner:
“All of the sudden I heard this ‘Bavoosh!!’ And I looked down next to those storage facilities and there was this giant geyser of liquid coming out of the ground,” said David Mouffe, who watched the incident happen from his back yard.
But fear not urban gas drilling guinea pigs…
EnCana Gas & Oil said the leak was not a threat to human health.
So, you’re safe because Encana says so. Oh wait! Don’t animals sometimes die when they are coated in oil?
Be sure to watch the video.

If an O&G company tells you something, just the opposite is probably TRUE! I’ve never heard of them to ‘sugar coat’ the situation!
