Rick Noriega to Bring Bold Plan to Fix Broken Immigration System to Lubbock

Press Conference: Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 3:00 pm

WHAT: Rick Noriega will discuss his plan to fix the broken immigration system, calling for enhanced border security, for tougher penalties for employers who break the law, to turn illegal immigrants into taxpayers and to get rid of real criminals in Lubbock on Wednesday.

As the National Guard's Laredo Border Sector Commander during Operation Jumpstart, Rick Noriega oversaw the deployment of hundreds of National Guard troops to the southern border. As a result, he has seen first-hand what it takes to provide real border security on the ground to fix our broken immigration system.
