According to Time, she won’t be giving any interviews. I’d bet she doesn’t want to answer any questions about all those lies she told in her speech.
No Questions, Please. We’ll Tell You What You Need To Know.
According to Nicole Wallace of the McCain campaign, the American people don’t care whether Sarah Palin can answer specific questions about foreign and domestic policy. According to Wallace — in an appearance I did with her this morning on Joe Scarborough’s show — the American people will learn all they need to know (and all they deserve to know) from Palin’s scripted speeches and choreographed appearances on the campaign trail and in campaign ads. Someone explain to me why Palin is “ready” from day one to become CIC, but she can’t even face a few questions from the press? Surely by now Liebermann’s told her the difference between Shia and Sunni.
And someone has told ther that she must join McCain in defining “the surge” to mean ANY progress of any kind in Iraq, not just a specific buildup of troops labled “the surge” by our current CIC. Maybe they’ve even told her about how the government is going to spend billions of taxpayers dollars bailing out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, after years of rotten regulatory oversight by the Bush administration. They can’t let her loose before they figure out a way to spin that.
Meanwhile, I just saw an amateur video of Big O making an open air speech in one of the most Republican counties in Pennsylvania. With two days notice, 15,000 people showed up to hear a presidential candidate talk about solutions to their problems, instead of making nasty comments about “irresponsible” community organizers. 15,000 people….and you can hear them, as they surround the person shooting the video, saying “Yes. Uh-huh. That’s what we need.”
Palin the lipsticked pit bull can show her teeth all she wants. I am a long-time femininist, but she does not represent me….or speak about the real needs of the American people.
