From PARCHED EARTH
A tip from a resident at a recent Citizen’s Meeting on Oil and Gas Development issues led to the closing of a commercial saltwater disposal injection well for hazardous violations. The Texas Railroad Commission sealed the well two miles north of Aledo operated by CES Saltwater Disposal of Texas on Tuesday.
“Irregular pressures on casing strings indicate a hole that needs repair”, according to Doug Allmand of Railroad Commission District 7B. Soil at the site is visibly saturated with contamination and there was produced water pollution standing on the ground. A workover rig was pulling pipe casing from the well on Wednesday.
Jay Marcom, a property owner who has land contaminated by gas drilling operations said, “If you have injection wells in your community and would like an inspection, please contact me so that those wells can be inspected and shut down”. Mr. Marcom may be reached at 254-246-1876.
