White vapor spews from wellhead near Atascocita neighborhood
Photo: Firefighters from Atascocita Volunteer Fire Department attempted to control the release of a vaporous substance from an old, abandoned wellhead last week. The substance began to erupt when wellhead’s valve failed. The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, Harris County HazMat and the Texas Railroad Commission also responded to the scene.
Bonus: Can you believe it’s been a year since the sink hole?
The sinkhole sits on the property of Delouch Vacuum Service. In a document from the Railroad Commission, it says they still don’t know if the disposal well on the property caused the sinkhole to form.
