DISH, TX found some bentonite clay in their water. Bentonite alone is not harmful but because it is used in drilling mud and in hydraulic fracture fluid, Mayor Tillman is having the water tested.
Operators have to drill through the aquifers to get to the shale so the bentonite could have come from the drilling mud. Drilling mud sometimes contains toxins and bentonite is very absorbent.
Or it could be from the hydraulic fracture fluid.
I’m hoping for the best.
