One morning you wake up to the sound of bulldozers clearing the land next door. No one notified you and the only way you know what’s coming is a stake in the ground marked: EOG SWD.
Having lived around Barnett Shale activity for a while, you know that SWD probably means your new neighbor will be a Saltwater Disposal Well, also called an injection well. In moments, decades old trees are gone and your property value plummets. You worry about water and air quality. Welcome to the Barnett Shale.
Yeah, I asked the same question, “What is that truck spraying on the road.” HINT: In rural aread, they never put water on the roads to control the dust. Call the TRC, TCEQ, EPA, NRC and the Sheriff’s office.

If they are dumping anything other than fresh water. They should be reported. But you are incorrect. They do water the dirt roads to keep dust down.

Once I contact the appropriate authorities hopefully we'll know what is being dumped. I guess besides my camera going with me everywhere I also need to take plastic containers to collect samples!
