Fort Worth is by far the biggest city in the Barnett Shale, with more than 700,000 residents, and more than 1,000 operating gas wells in the city, with 500 others permitted or planned. Dozens of wells have been permitted within a few hundred feet of homes, parks and businesses.

Don't move to Ft.Worth for quiet, quality of life living. In fact, there are few counties in Tx where that is possible, largely because of O&G operations. Booger County certainly is NOT a place for quality of life living.
