The Ruggieros have a new yard ornament. I think Aruba Petroleum is pretending that this is a vapor recovery device but it’s not. It probably is burning off the vapors and emitting some heavy duty C02 and who knows what else. Rumor has it that C02 readings were pretty high in the neighborhood shortly after installation.
UPDATE: After further investigation, this appears to be a device that allows flaring without a flame. Dehydration is also mentioned in the literature. BYOGM (bring your own gas mask).
You can see a video of a real Vapor Recovery System at Hy-Bon.

I think if you play the video backwards it becomes a vapor recovery device. That's probably how Aruba would look at it.

Well, silly me. Of course, that's it.

Will this device be there permanently or does it get removed after flaring is complete? It sure doesn't look good.

The one at the XTO site has been there for several months. I have more information coming. It's not a good thing.

I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be ducted to Aubrey's bedroom, yep, looking at the plans now, dang, those Aruba guys can't seem to do anything right. I'll let you run the pipeline right through my yard so Aubrey can get his clean air.

Look at some key words: "enclosed flare", "waste stream" and "enviro therm" on the literature!
In short it's A FLARE so you don't see the flame. It burns waste gas which they can't sell for some reason, probably has H2S and other crap that they choose to burn. Oh, anything that burns, creates CO2 (at least) and maybe much other crap. No surprise about increased CO2!

Big Gas knows how to manipulate and operate the "local system"! They are in charge with the locals!

This isn't a flare stack, its used to lower dew point of gas, if its too high pipeline company won't buy the gas.
