Scientists are estimating that the RIVER OF OIL in our Gulf is flowing at the rate of 80,000 bpd not 5,000 bpd and that the oxygen levels have already dropped 30%. Yet BP refuses to let them make scientific measurements.
“The answer is no to that,” a BP spokesman, Tom Mueller, said on Saturday. “We’re not going to take any extra efforts now to calculate flow there at this point. It’s not relevant to the response effort, and it might even detract from the response effort.”
How in bloody hell does BP have the freaking, fracking right to deny anyone anything at this point. WHAT? Do they own the ocean now?
BP has resisted entreaties from scientists that they be allowed to use sophisticated instruments at the ocean floor that would give a far more accurate picture of how much oil is really gushing from the well.

I believe this policy originates with the senior BP scientific expert: BP's tort attorney.
Hmmmm. It's not everday you see the word 'Scientific' and 'Attorney' as descriptors of the same person in the same sentence.
How can BP look for a solution without knowing how much oil is coming out? BP tell the truth! How much is it?

If the "remedies" they are trying to stop the crude with are too small to work, you bet it's relevant!!
The government should command/require them to open this up to all over scientists the world. BP absolutely does not have a right to foul the ocean and coastline, waste oil; they've already caused 11 to die! I'm sure they think their scientists are the best in the world, and this is pure ego-and perhaps fear of increased liability if truth comes out. Right now, they don't know what the truth is!
There's more info coming out now about the BP blowout: They sent down a 4 inch pipe to intercept everything coming out of a 21 inch pipe. I hope the pump suction on the 4 inch pipe is really high!
Secondly, it's now being quoted that BP is pulling 1,000 barrels a day of crude from that 4 inch pipe. So, they are only falling behind 4,000+ barrels a day in continued spilling.
