Okay folks, we have to get this right.
It is incorrect to say that oil and gas is exempt from all our environmental laws.
It is correct to say that oil and gas has broad exemptions from all our environmental laws.
They do have to follow portions of each law but they have broad exemptions and it’s extremely complicated. That’s why EARTHWORK’s Oil and Gas Accountability Project wrote a 21 page booklet to explain it.
