Now it becomes personal. Sucks for you too.
Dallas mulls plan to drill first Barnett Shale well in city
Actually, I hear they are already drilling on the edge of Dallas and the Audubon has leased their minerals.
Dallas is considering an application for permit to drill for natural gas
at a city-owned site on the western edge of town, which, if approved, would
usher in the first Barnett Shale drilling in the northern Texas city.
Fort Worth, Texas-based XTO Energy submitted a request for a specific-use
permit for a gas well on May 25, city spokesman Frank Librio said late Monday.
Here’s a preview of the XTO Dog and Pony Show.

I would have thought Dallas was different- it's not like all the crap Ft. Worth has being going through has been a secret. The inept and corrupt TRRC, the powerless and ineffective TCEQ are at the forefront. I guess it's always going to be about the same thing-MONEY. XTO said the magic words, and the City Council and Mayor obviously stopped listening after the check came out.
If any of you out there on this blog are from Dallas, you better get your battle gear on now and start forming homeowner groups and go to the council meetings and speak up and out and LOUD!
You better start getting prepared to fight now, because XTO is already started their lies and decpetion campiagn, and it looks like the Dallas City Council is falling for it. Y'all are going to need someobdies there at these meetings to bring attention what's been happeneing around the rest of the shale before it's too late. Once the drilling starts, you're cooked.

I would advise the folks in Dallas to check out what is going on in the Capital of Booger County (Franklin) regarding the payment of royalties from "promised" O&G payments. check it out in the local "wiper"!
