Organize a protest in your area and expand the list!
Protests against shale gas fracking will be occurring across the world on
Wednesday, November 3, 2010.
Please protest with us – in your area – in this first World Day of Protest Against Shale Gas Fracking.

It’s ok if you can only protest with a friend or three. It will really help, no matter the number, if you can join us in speaking up to stop the dangerous, destructive practice of hydraulic fracturing. If you can get a larger group, though, that’s even better!

Please post with a picture of yourself and any friends who are protesting with you, holding signs opposing fracking, and provide your town, state, and country so that we can add you to the growing list of locations where protests are being held.

We’re starting off with protests planned in the United States in Pittsburgh, PA; the Dallas, TX metro area; Little Rock, Arkansas. Protests are also being planned in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Help us to expand this list to cover the shale, wherever it’s threatened!

Protest in the Dallas, TX, Metro Area in the Barnett Shale
Delegations from 17 countries will attend the World Shale Gas Conference and Exhibition at an exclusive resort in the Dallas metro area to discuss investment and profit opportunities in shale gas while shale gas operations are making people sick in communities just a few miles away. Drilling chemicals have recently been found in people’s blood in north Texas, well water has been fouled, land has been seized through eminent domain and devastated, wells are being drilled in densely populated areas next to homes and schools, people are getting sick, and the regulators do absolutely nothing other than facilitate more drilling and fracking.

Local activists are organizing the protest on
Wednesday, November 3rd, from 3:00 – 7:00 pm,
at Katie’s Woods Park
1899 Katie’s Woods Dr.
Grapevine, TX, 76051 (near DFW airport).
The protest site is right behind the Gaylord Texan Convention Center, where the conference will be held.
