I am drawing royalty interests from several operators and receivedpayment for August production ranging from $2.99-$4.63 for Barnett Shale wells – in other words a pretty significant variation. Based on my interests only, the operators that seem to generally pay the most are EOG and XTO. Devon and Chesapeake seem to be in the middle of the pack, and the ones that generally pay the least are Carrizo, Titan, Collins & Young. That said, there is variation even within the same operator for different wells in different areas, and I only have a small sample set so I wouldn’t use this information as anything more than a soundbyte.

When the lawsuits start flying over the pollution, the mineral owners will be named as co-conspirators. My guess is they will rue the day they leased their minerals.
Sometimes mineral owners are victims too. But that is not the case with the Hilliards.
I was in Highland Village yesterday at 2499 and 407, the wind was blowing up from Hillards and there was a nice smell of rotten eggs. Let's just say, I ran like hell, in and out of my errands.
Is Highland Village close to Hillards? I need to look at a map of Flower Mound. What a shame to have that fabulous shopping area ruined by stinky gas. That area is low lying so the toxics will collect there and linger.
Whatever they were smelling at Highland Village came from somewhere else. Hilliard is on FM 2499 about half a mile south of Flower Mound Road(3040) and drilling hasn't started yet. The Town Manager said drilling is scheduled to start at Hilliard on Monday, November 8th.
I know they have drilling very near Highland Village though because I saw the lights from the rigs this summer.
Last week I smelled the "rotten egg" odor coming out of the Target in that area. interesting. There are a few wells in that area. Copper Canyon, Argyle, Bartonville are close by.
Hillard is active in some shape or form. Smells are already irradiating from there. One thing I've learned, is because the city says they're not drilling until tomorrow doesn't mean it didn't start last week.
It's been rolling since they erected it and got the lights looking all pretty and the smells a fuming.
I got some ha, ha the other day. Mr "it's my American Right" apparently hired a non American Company to drill his property.
If you're so American then why not, in the very least, hire an American Company to pollute our air and our water?
And by the way, FACT: .5 miles is not far enough to irradiate the Rotten Egg Smell. 1.5 miles is not far enough to clear the air.
.5 miles is within Breath and Die range.
The Hilliard well was not active this weekend. Mr. Hilliard did not "get" anyone to drill, Titan did. All Mr. Hilliard did was lease his mineral rights. After that everything else is out of his hands. Get over it people.
For all of you who are crying about how drilling is killing the environment, what do you think all that "fabulous" shopping did to that area. It once looked like the Hilliard field and now it is Yuppieville on steriods. How many upland habitats were destroyed for your pleasure? Or are you able to turn a blind eye because it just magically appeared and now your excessive consumerism has an outlet?
Of course Hilliard did not "get" the company that is drilling. Hilliard leased to one of the worst paying companies. That's what the post is about and that's what is so damn funny. He blind greed caused him to make a very bad decision. Apparently he could have held out for about twice the money. Dumbass! Hahahaha
