That’s what Ed Ireland said, “Impossible.” Watch the video.
Report: Limit Gas Drilling to 1 Mile Away From Schools
UPDATE: Gasholes can, have and will innovate but only when forced. Who has the courage to force them?
We can minimize negative side-effects of shale drilling

NOTE: The above article only addresses emissions. Currently there is no way to solve the negative side-effects of hydraulic fracturing.

But wasn't it discovered that the plume for the nitrous dioxide covered two miles??? Why not then make it two miles away from schools, three miles, ten miles? Here's a thought maybe they shouldn't be near schools at any distance. So any city with no schools can have drills.

First off, thank you Fort Worth for the incredible work that you have done.
Second, "impossible" seems ridiculous. Horizontal Hydraulic Fracturing covers a mile. So in essence, the site can be set up a mile away, and the minerals can be obtained.
The gas will just have to be obtained in a much smarter, more thought out fashion.
Which sure the hell beats the mayhem, unplanned, Russian Roulette style of drilling that is currently happening.
I'm sorry to use such a strong word, but I hate idiots.
If we don't kill a bunch of residents through toxic emissions, isn't that a good thing?
The gas companies are slowly killing their customers.
I have news for you Gas Industry, if you don't have any customers, you won't have anyone to sell your gas to.
Maybe you should practice safety over profit so you're not pissing off so many of your customers. I'm two seconds away from turning the gas off to my home.
And the less we use, the lower the price falls.
I feel, we need a revolution, we need an Egypt in the streets of America.
Opposition is great, however, we are too separate. We need more power, we need to organize. We need to protest.
We have a right to live our American Dream.
Thank you TXSharon for your endless hours of commitment.

Sharon cant say it but I can.
Ed Ireland states a 1 mile set back is imposable, WHO THE HELL ARE YOU to tell FW what they can and cannot do, other than a shill for Big Oil & Gas.

NBCDFW Report: Limit Gas Drilling to 1 Mile Away From Schools. FORT WORTH STAR TELEGRAM, where is your story on this news? Your silence speaks volumes.
Anonymous says
Actually the Star Telegram did a great story on it! Check it out online. The author is John Henry and that is probably the easiest way to search for it.
Ed Ireland's comment is quite funny. Why is it impossible? You notice he doesn't go into that!!!!!
TXsharon says
I posted the Star-Telegram report HERE.
You probably didn't recognize it as Star-Telegram because it's a pretty good article. They have a new guy covering drilling news.
David says
Thanks for the link to the FWST artical, without it I dont see it posted under school news! Does anyone know what page in the paper it was printed?

Zoe: Our city's Environmental Services Director stated in a public meeting (last month) that they are now drilling horizontally up to 5 miles in Oklahoma. Don't know if it's true…but just reporting what was said.
zoe says
Well, that sounds mighty safer than 1 mile!
