Through the corporate-funded American Legislative Exchange Council, global corporations and state politicians vote behind closed doors to try to rewrite state laws that govern your rights. These so-called “model bills” reach into almost every area of American life and often directly benefit huge corporations. Through ALEC, corporations have “a VOICE and a VOTE” on specific changes to the law that are then proposed in your state. DO YOU?
Below is a list of the Model Bills. More information on each bill is available at the website.
- Worker and Consumer Rights Bills
- Tort Reform and Injured Americans Bills
- Privatizing Schools and Higher Education
- Health, Big Pharma and Social Welfare
- Environment, Energy, Big Gas Mafia and Agriculture
- Democracy, Voting and Federal Relations
- Tax & Budget
- Guns, Prisons, Crime and Immigration
Here are a few of the corporate members:
- Energy Future Holdings
- ExxonMobil Corporation
- Koch Industries
- Amoco Corporation
- BP America, Inc
- Chevron Corporation
- Enron Corporation = EOG
- MidAmerican Energy Company
- Peabody Energy
- Phillips Petroleum Company
- Shell Oil Company
- Texaco Inc.
- Union Pacific Corporation
And a few politicians:
- Ronald Reagan

- Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX)
- John Culberson (R-TX)
- Rep. Sam Johnson (R-TX)
- Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-TX)
- Rep. Tom Craddick (R-Texas, Executive Board
- Rep. Jerry Madden (R-Texas)
- Rep. Jack Harris (TX)
- U.S. Rep. John Boehner, Featured Speaker
One thing to note: There are no Democrats on the list. It seems to be a pretty exclusive club.
About Sharon Wilson
Sharon Wilson is considered a leading citizen expert on the impacts of shale oil and gas extraction. She is the go-to person whether it’s top EPA officials from D.C., national and international news networks, or residents facing the shock of eminent domain and the devastating environmental effects of natural gas development in their backyards.

This is feeling alot like old school fascism. We need a political revolution now like in 1776 to get our vote. No more representation, everyone can represent themselves by voting directly on not only the final bills but also by voting on and writing model bills. Technology has progressed to the point where there is no logical reason for us not to vote on the actual legislation. At least then O&G would have to pay off your average schmucks rather than politicians for their vote. And weed would be legalized by next weekend.

TX Sharon. Thanks for everything you do !!! It is because of you that there is so much awareness of what is going on. That can be the only way for people to take back control.
These republicans are just collecting money from corporate interests and delivering to them while the average citizen has been distracted by divisive issues like gays, abortion and guns.
Funny, a guy like Tan Parker though, busy with legislation about unborn babies when kids that have already been born are being gassed in the gas patch. Shows less respect for life if you ask me, when he looks the other way.
