Hey Dear Readers, I met Istra several months ago at a Barnett Shale panel at UNT. Let’s help Istra finance her educational Barnett Shale display for public libraries! I think this is a super idea and it won’t take a lot of money. I’ll kick in the first donation with $25.
Hi, my name is Istra Fuhrmann and I’m a fourteen-year-old trying to earn my Girl Scout Silver Award. Other than Girl Scouts, one of the main things I’m interested in is the Barnett Shale natural gas issue. I’ve done some advocacy work, and now as my Silver Award project I’m creating an educational display about the Barnett Shale for my local library. The display is titled “Barnett Shale: Local Resource and Responsibility”, and the message I’d like to convey is that we have a great natural resource, but we need to manage it carefully and with responsibility. I think that this display could be really helpful in teaching the public about this important issue.
I’m asking for donations toward Istra’s project so she can build a sturdy and professional-looking folding display that could potentially travel to other libraries and community centers. If you’d like to donate, please PayPal tkfuhrmann@gmail.com. Thank you so much! When she has it all finished, I bet she will send pictures of the finished product so I can post here.
