Rich chordal progressions and an intersting melodic line. Reminds me of Chopin’s work, especially the Marche Funabre.
Perhaps the world in which Chopin lived and worked, i.e., the
war in Europe that threatened his beloved homeland, Poland,
has its own parallels in our time, as we still are deeply influenced in our national psyche by 9/11 and all the violence that has followed. We have a right to some of the same grief and sorrow.
This music seems to have captured the cry of that national psyche.
