So, I was just on KDKA radio in PA with Matt Pitzarella. I didn’t know this when I called in but Range Resources pays for the show. So the host completely cut me off and Matt misrepresented the mission of my organization and rambled on about how activists just want to shut down their industry. Like we just woke up one day and decided we wanted to shut down the industry.
Matt talked at length about all the town halls they put on but he failed to mention this matter.
Now they have a fracking Joe Camel scientist talking about how safe fracking is.
If fracking is so safe, why does Range have to pay KDKA to talk about fracking. I never have to pay to get on the radio or TV or in the paper to talk about fracking.
UPDATE: From PA Rep. Jesse White.
Why I Choose Not to Retaliate Against Range Resources’ Character Attacks
‘I will continue to be a vocal advocate for the responsible development of natural gas drilling,’ state Rep. Jesse White said.
About three weeks ago, I was warned in a telephone conversation with Range Resources’ lawyer that if I did not change my public stance on how I approach Marcellus Shale, which included asking questions about the DEP’s policy of not releasing test results for heavy metal carcinogens in drinking water near drilling sites, Range would make my life very difficult and unpleasant. We saw the results this past week as Range engaged in an all-out manufactured assault on my character, aided by a reporter very eager to earn headlines by printing the stories they wanted him to tell.
Read his bullet points. I concur with those.

Better question to ask is if fracktivists are as crazy and off base as the gas industry says, then why do they find it necessary to spend so much money on marketing? By marketing it includes paid infomercial “radio shows”, tv/print media advertising, creating one front group after another with all the websites, graphics etc to go with it, sending out spokesparrots to do presentations, junk snailmail, junk email, making infomercial movies (i.e truthland)?
Then there’s all the money they spend on lawyering up to harrass fracktivists.
The price of buying a pet politician has increased too.
One way to gauge our effectiveness with the general public is to look how much money we are making the natural gas industry spend. If we weren’t making a difference they wouldn’t be spending that kind of money.
