Saturday, Runner Susan and I drove to Austin in her new Prius so we could attend the Lone Star Sierra Club Chapter 2012 Awards dinner.
It was a beautiful dinner and I enjoyed seeing some long-time friends and some friends I’d never met in person.
ShaleTest received an environmental justice award.
I received a special service award and I’m still kind of speechless but I must have managed to say something that was funny. Sister Elizabeth also received this service award but she was not at all speechless.
These two pictures of the slideshow my friend Dewayne put together, got some good laughs.
I ran into that guy in the picture again and I don’t think we look much worse for the wear. Do you?
I accepted the award on behalf of all of you who work as hard as you can every day to make this world a better place. We all deserve awards. I am grateful to Sierra Club for recognizing my work. They are always with me because I still carry my binoculars and camera equipment in my Sierra Club backpack.
