It’s interesting they set aside $35 million for a case they claim they are sure to win.
Range Resources sets aside $35 million for Oklahoma royalty lawsuit
I snagged this purely speculatory comment off Tim’s Facebook:
Range is going to either lose fighting it, or settle quietly. The confident company does not set aside $35M “just in case” if he has a “Strong defense”. What I’m reading is, they know they’ve been screwing royalty owners, got caught, and by their math, cheated them out of $35 Million. One does not notify the SEC of an expense like this just for the heck of it.
Sometimes Tim makes a lot of sense.
