People in Denton tried for years to find a way they could live with fracking. We tried to negotiate with industry for reasonable rules that would keep their fracking pollution from trespassing onto our property and into our children’s bedrooms. We got no help from the local or state government or from the state regulatory agencies.
In a tweet, Railroad Commissioner Christi Craddick reveals why we got no help from the agency she runs. She thinks she has been helping us.
The Texas Railroad Commission thinks there is no problem with fracking 187′ from a child’s bedroom, while the voters in Denton there there is.

I don’t have a Twitter account but if I did I’d be curious to see who she thinks she’s protecting in Denton and to name just a few of the things her agency has done over the last couple of years to protect everyday people in Denton

I asked her if she called fracking 187′ from a child’s bedroom protective. But I’ll also ask her for examples.

It has been 5 years since the announcement of planned wells across the street from McKenna Park. That’s a lot of ignoring, folks. Frack Free Denton and others have kept records of 100’s of attempts to get these people’s attention and help. We finally got their attention with the Ban. And they spent nearly $1,000,000 on trying to defeat the ban but zero $$ on improved safety measures. Now they are publicly stating that they will continue to ignore us and that this is their idea of “working” with us. Attempting to work us over is more like it.

That Texas RRC is quite a roadshow!!! I have testified to the Sunset Commission that the RRC should be removed from public funding—-it should be allowed to go the the O&G industry and other pulluters to get their funding. A lot of tax money would be saved, AND NOTHING WOULD CHANGE!
